The Toros of Nuevo Laredo is a two time winning basketball team of the Mexican National Basketball League (LNBP as per its Spanish initials).
The Toros is particular because they have two home bases, Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and Laredo, Texas, USA. The first has a capacity of for 1,621 fans and the second for 10,000.
After various name changes, the LNBP and the City of Nuevo Laredo settled on naming them “Toros de Nuevo Laredo” for the 2009-2010 seasons, and making it to the semi-finals. Thanks to its excellent debut in December 2010, in the second season the Toros made history by participating for the first time in an international tournament organized by the FIBA of the Americas.
In the 2010-2011 seasons, the Nuevo Laredo team won its first LNBP championship over the Piones of Quintana Roo in six teams.
Its second title came in the 2012-2013 season, once again in 6 matches but this time against the Halcones UV Xalapa. A few of the players that brought them the Toros to their coronation as the best were: Wilfredo Pagan, Quentin Gonzáles, Adrian Hennind, among others.
