Javier Hernández Balcázar (born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on June 1, 1988), best known as Javier Hernández, or his nickname Chicharito, is a Mexican football player. He is a forward and his current club is Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League of England.
Javier joined the Guadalajara junior team as early as 9, and then played for Chivas Coras, an affiliate in Tepic, Nayarit. He stood out to such an extent that in the 2006 opening he made his debut with the main team on September 9, 2006 for a 4-0 victory over Club Necaxa.
During the 2009 opening, “Chicharito” started drawing attention to himself while with Chivas, ranking as the third top scorer in the tournament with a total of 11 goals in 17 matches, obtaining an unquestionable title.
During 2010, Javier became the star scorer for Chivas. His great performance at such an early age with Guadalajara drew the attention of several European clubs (e.g., Netherlands´s PSV Eindhoven, Germany´s VfL Wolfsburgo, and Spain´s Valencia CF. Nonetheless, on April 8, 2010, Javier signed a 5-year agreement with England´s Manchester United. As part of the agreement between Manchester and Guadalajara, the “red devils” played an exhibition game against Chivas during the inauguration of Estadio Omnilife on July 30, 2010, where Javier played 45 minutes for Guadalajara and the remaining 45 for Manchester United, scoring once for Chivas – the first goal in the match and in the history of the stadium. The final score was 3-2 for Chivas.
They have a total of 5 national titles: Liga MX Guadalajara 2006, Community Shield Manchester United 2010 and 2011. Premier League Manchester United 2011 and 2013.
Has been awarded Manchester United´s player of the month six times.
For Chivas of Guadalajara he played a total of 80 matches and scored 29 goals; for Manchester United he has played 115 matches and scored 50 times.
Javier Hernández is a milestone for the Mexican Team – for which he has played 55 matches and scored 35 goals.
