Hanley Ramírez was born on December 23rd, 1983 in Samaná, Samaná Province, Dominican Republic.

He made his debut on September 25th, 2005 for the Boston Red Sox.

He was traded that same year to the Florida Marlins and impressively earned the shortstop position over shortstop Robert Andino.

Hanley won the Rookie of the Year Award that season (2006) and his 46 doubles is the all time NL record for a shortstop age 22 or younger.

He now plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ramírez won three times All Star, twice Silver Slugger Award, NL Batting Champion, 30-30 Club, twice World Baseball Classic Selection,  and World Baseball Classic Champion.
