The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced its new class of Young Global Leaders, and four of the honorees are from Peru.

This year’s group is made up of 214 men and women from across the globe, including 49 from East Asia, 46 from Europe, 17 from Latin America, 18 from Northern Africa and the Middle East, 48 from Southern Asia, and 19 from Sub-Saharan Africa.

The four Young Global Leaders from Peru are Augusto Townsend Klinge, the economics editor of the Peruvian newspaper El Comercio, Claudia Belmont Graña, director of the Belcorp Foundation (charitable arm of the Belcorp cosmetics corporation), Gonzalo Begazo of soft drink giant AJE Group, and Vania Masías, professional dancer whose Angeles D1 organization helps vulnerable youths in Peru.

According to Gestion, the Young Global Leaders community currently has more than 900 active members. Upon selection, the Young Global Leaders are asked to take part in the community for five years.
