Wiiggins is not yet ready to commit to Pan Am Games

Andrew Wiggins is obviously not a man to make quick decisions.

He knows fans would love to see him take part in next February’s dunk contest as part of the NBA’s all-star weekend in Toronto, and those same fans would appreciate it if he suits up for Canada in July’s Pan Am Games, but he is not ready to commit to either one.

“That’s too far away to think about,” Wiggins said of the dunk contest, which could be one of the marquee events of the weekend that will consume the attention of fans next winter. “I’m sure people want to see it, but I just have to do what’s best for me, do what I want to do.”

Wiggins did not take part in the dunk contest as a rookie, instead watching Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Zach LaVine win it.

Speaking to reporters after the unveiling of the all-star weekend logo on Wednesday afternoon, Wiggins said he’s also holding off on any firm commitment to the Pan Am Games.
