Venezuelans will need a visa to travel to the UK

Posted by Dubraswka Aguilar on March 14, 2014

As of May 5, 2014 all Venezuelan citizens wishing to visit the UK, including those with a biometric passport with chip, will need to obtain a tourist visa.

Those interested must complete their visa applications through the website http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. The online system will allow them to schedule an appointment to submit the supporting documentation for the application as well as to capture their biometric information (fingerprints and digital photograph) in the current visa application center at the British Embassy in Caracas, located in La Castellana.

The cost of the application for a multiple entry visa for visitors, valid for a period of up to 6 months is 80 pounds (874 bolivars).

Those who travel frequently may apply for visitor visas with multiple entries for duration of 2, 5 or 10 years, provided they meet the requirements. Visas with longer validity period have a higher cost.

The global standard for processing applications for visitor visas to the UK agency for visas and immigration is 15 working days.

Current visa requirements for work, study for longer than six months and family immigration will not change, according to the British embassy in Caracas.
