Venezuelan divers manage 8 spots for Toronto 2015

The Venezuelan diving team won the South American Championship that has been held in the facilities of the Bolivarian Swimming Complex in Barquisimeto, Lara state, and won four seats, for each gender, to the seventeenth Pan American GamesToronto 2015.

A lack of game to spare the four scheduled, the locals have managed to get 10 medals, six of them gold, two silver and same number of bronze, making it unavailable to the representatives of Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina , Peru, Brazil and Ecuador, which also participate in the contest.

The diver María Florencia Betancourt became the primary responsible of this title by winning the 10 meter platform and springboard one and three meters, said an office of the Ministry for Youth and Sport.

They also managed to climb to the top of the podium Robert Paez (10m platform), Alfredo Colmenares (3m springboard) and Emilio Colmenares (1 meter springboard). The second places were awarded to Lisette Ramirez (10m platform) and Elizabeth Pérez with Ramirez in the synchronized 3m springboard), while the bronze went to back Perez and Jesus Lira (1 meter springboard).

The Divers Joalys Garcia, Freddy Sanchez Contreras Edickson complete the team coached by Ilich Marcano with the assistance of Jai Luis Archer, Cesar Saldivar, Hu Yum and Jose Hernandez.

A program of South American competition that was originally set in Argentina, but later declined to be taken by the Venezuelan organization, still remains the evidence of male synchronized three-meter springboard and synchronized platform for both branches.

This Saturday and Sunday will continue the South American competitions.
