Venezuela will face Japan in semifinals

Venezuela against Japan and Spain against Italy are the matches in semifinals of women's World Cup U-17, where the South Americans dream to win what would be their first title in the competition, whose fourth edition is being held in Costa Rica.

First it is the dueling of the undefeated, Venezuela and Japan, and later Spain will face Italy, both matches at the stadium Edgardo Baltodano, in the city of Liberia (northwest).

The Vinotinto, the big surprise of this World Cup, which began on March 15 and close on Friday, have a very balanced team in every line. The team counts on Denya Catellanos, who has scored 5 goals, and Gabriela Garcia, who follows with 4.

The goalkeeper Franyely Rodriguez has been a bulwark in the goal area, but now she must face an equally overwhelming Japanese offensive, having scored 17 goals and keeping its box in zero. They are two of the best selections so far and natural candidates for the title according to what they have shown in the previous four games.

“We are not afraid. We've seen a lot of games and we are ready," said to journalists Kenneth Zseremeta, coach of Venezuela.

So far, his team has climbed to a position that had not been reached by any Venezuelan team in a FIFA competition, but he is not satisfied and wants more.

The backdrop of this Women's World Cup will fall on Friday, when two matches will be played: first the one for the third place, and finally the fight for the title, both at the National Stadium in San Jose.
