Venezuela poses to assemble a million laptops in 2015

The Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Manuel Fernandez, said on Monday that the goal Industries Canaima is to join at least one million units between computers and tablets by 2015.

The information was revealed during the event marking the second anniversary of phase two of Canaima Project, a plan conceived for the construction and commissioning of an assembly line of educational laptops, says the website of National Radio Venezuela (RNV).

In this regard, said that next year, four more production lines will be enabled. "In the context of the negotiations that took China for tablets and computers is the integration of new fully automated production lines," he said.

He added that a team of engineers is in China for a training course in order to automate warehouses and ensure that production lines are operational by April 2015. Fernández also indicated that a repair area is operative for the equipment that have some damage caused by the use, while noting that the factory failure rate is low. Moreover, the Minister said that the 3.5 million Canaimas computers made to date, through the China-Venezuela alliance, more than 800,000 have been assembled in Venezuela.
