Venezuela officially declared its candidacy to host 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games

During the meeting between the III South American Beach Games Organising Commitee and the national and international media, the Vice Minister of environmental performance, José Alejandro Terán, said that Venezuela will ask to be the host of 2016 Bolivarian Game Beach and host of the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.

"The absolute succes of these Games gave us enough confidence to ask to the committee to be the host of the 2016 next Games, to celebrate it in vargas state again", said Terán. 

He also said that the assistant countries to the Beach Games were interested on Hugo Chávez Frías Arena to be scenario of the highest level sand sports, after showing the arena quiality and the succes of the organising committee.

In other hand, the Venezuelan Olympic Committee presidente, Eduardo Álvarez Camacho, said that a venezuelan comission will travel to Santa Marta, Colombia, to ask for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games nomination. "We have demonstrated that we able to host big sport events, so, with the National Goverment, we will present our nomination to this international event. We want Puertpo La cruz to be the host because its location, tourism development and sport infrastructures", said Eduardo Álvarez Camacho.
