These Are the Most Popular Canada-Related Searches on Google

Posted by PanamericanWorld on July 04, 2016

To mark Canada’s 149th birthday, Google released the top trending Canada-related search terms.

In honour of a little belated Canada Day love, here is a list of what both Canadians and our international friends are searching.

Those outside of Canada love to ask generic questions about our country and are curious about the biggest stories to make front page headlines. The first one, of course, is brought to you by none other than American diaspora instigator Donald Trump…

1. How to move to Canada?

2. What time is it in Canada?

3. What is the capital of Canada?

4. Is weed legal in Canada?

5. Where is Fort McMurray?

Yup, that’s what a potential President Drumpf will do. Or perhaps it was the Brits who are looking for a way out? Naturally, Canada makes an attractive place to migrate.

Now onto what’s really important: food. This is what Canadians dished up – or dreamed up, at least – at their Canada Day celebrations. Some are more surprising (and pretty un-Canadian) than others…

1. Chicken drumsticks

2. Mojitos

3. Butter tarts

4. Chicken cacciatore

5. Apple pie

6. Chocolate-covered strawberries

7. Lasagna

8. Greek salad

9. Haddock fillet

10. Mashed cauliflower
