Ten swimmers will represent Venezuela in Puerto Rico

A delegation of 10 swimmers will represent Venezuela at the first International Open in Mayaguez, which will take place in Puerto Rico from May 23 to May 25, said this Wednesday the Venezuelan Aquatic Sports Federation (FEVEDA)

Carlos Claverie, group leader, Cherly Sánchez, William Sigala, Robinson Molina, Jesús Rosso, Simone Palomo, Marcela Grancko, Vanesa Fernández, Oriana Pérez and Cristian Delgado are the ten athletes in the Venezuelan team.

According to the local newspaper, El Universal, the trainer of these young athletes will be Alfredo Bracho, with the health assistance of Iván Pérez.

This sport event will be at the University of Puerto Rico's Mayaguez Campus with the Puerto Rican Swimming Federation as a host (known in Spanish as FPN). "We are waiting for a fierce competition", said Morgan Toro, FPN President.

This Friday, May 23, will take place just one session which it will start at 18H00 local time (23H45 GMT). This Saturday and Sunday will be done two sessions: the first one will be at 09H00 (14H45 GMT) and the second one at 16H00 (21H45 GMT).

This event will have 600 swimmers, and this will be the last event before the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games. This will also help as competition check before the Swimming World Cup to be held in Kazan, Russia next year and the Pan American Games in Toronto.
