Silvio Fernández wants the Pan American title

The Venezuelan fencer, Silvio Hernández, said this Tuesday that he is going to reconfirm his Pan American title in Costa Rica, next June.

Last year, Fernández defeated the Canadian Hugues Boisvert-Simard with a hit marker of 15-10, after that Fernández became the Pan American champion at epee category in Cartagena, Colombia.

"Costa Rica is a very important championship. To revalidate mi last year title I am going to try to be at the final stage of this competition", said Fernández this Tuesday during a telephone interview with a local TV station.

The Venezuelan won his second medal after winning the bronze medal at the Fencing World Cup, held last weekend in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At that competition Fernández won 4 combats.

In the five World Cups disputed this year, the Venezuelan fencer has won a bronze medal in Germany and Argentina, ended the competition in Estonia (Tallin) at the sixth place, he was eighteenth at Paris and nineteenth at Italia (Legnano).

The Venezuelan fencers will compete at Russia Fencing World Championship, which will take place from July 17th to July 20th.
