SelectUSA Investment Summit 2013 May Bring Jobs to US

Posted by Liliana Castaño on August 26, 2013

I a clear effort to reinvigorate the "Made in USA" brand, Washington is launching the first-ever SelectUSA Investment Summit to encourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

The SelectUSA initiative began in 2011. Government spokesmen assert that the 2013 summit will be unprecedented, and that it will join the leading public and private sector directives from around the world, with the aim of analyzing the benefits of investing the United States.

Secretary of Commerce of the United States, Penny Pritzker, announced that the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2013, which will take place from October 31 to November 1, is going to count with the participation of  CEOs from Wal-Mart U.S., Siemens Corporation , Dow Chemical Company, Caterpillar Inc., Bloomberg LP and BlackRock.

"The knowledge of these distinguished presenters on the best way the public and private sectors can work together to make America an even more attractive destination for investors will be of great interest to the participants of the summit," she said.

SelectUSA was initiated by President Obama and is recognized as the first initiative of the U.S. government as a whole to promote and facilitate investment in the United States.

If you are investor anywhere in the world, take note of these dates in your calendar because in this event there will be an opportunity to establish a network of contacts and private meetings with potential investment partners. In addition of presentations on the latest trends in investment, moderated panels, groups on investment opportunities and programs, resources related to investment in the U.S., and exhibitions from economic development organizations.

5 million and growing

President Obama's crusade to capture the most varied and best foreign investment is very well supported. Today the FDI provides 5 million jobs across the country, famous publications feature foreign entrepreneurs leading successful businesses in the U.S., and the conditions seem favorable for even more foreign capital to come in.
