Santana threw a 90 MPH fastball

The Venezuelan baseball player Johan Santana is taking strong steps on his return to Big Leagues. Yesterday, he pitched four episodes in the extended spring trainings, in addition to this; he threw a 90 MPH fastball.

The left-handed pitcher allowed 3 hits and struck out 4 batters, for which he needed to pitch just 56 times to the home plate, despite the fact that Santana had stipulated to pitch 65 times for this opening game.

Santana has demonstrated a good progress in his arm strength since he started his recovery after the second surgery of his left shoulder in 2012. The Venezuelan baseball player could be a free agent if Baltimore Orioles don't upgrade him to Big Leagues this month.
