Salomón Rondón: "I have to take advantage of every single game"

Posted by Dubraswka Aguilar on April 21, 2014

Salomón Rondón has made a significant performance in the past games with the Zenit team scoring great goals and making good assists. "I'm pretty happy with how things are, it is a good time for me and for the team, because we came here with a very few winnings and now, we are fighting for the championship. We still are the first team at the chart, despite the big pressure from Lokomotiv, which is just one point far from the first place. We are focused on being champions and we are working to achieve that title" said the venezuelan striker, who scored and assisted in Zenit's victory last saturday.

For Salo, saturday's game was his third straight game scoring goals (5 in total). In addition, the venezuelan could collaborate with his teammates making great assists and the two goals of Zenit, demonstrating that the player is totally adapted to his new club's game.

"I came in winter, when the team already played more than half of the tournament, so I had to get used to Zenit's game as quick as possible. I think they are giving me good things, I feel very good here, very comfortable with Hulk, with Danny and all my colleagues. I feel so close to several players and that influences the good atmosphere in the dressing room, and you can see that influence on the court", said the seventh best scorer in the Russian Premier League so far in the 2013-2014 season, with eleven goals, even with missed dates by the striker.

About his good game moment, Rondón said: "You do what you have to do. It is true that goals make you feel good, it make you feel proud, but you have to work hard during the week to make things go smoothly. I always want to play, but the decision depends on the coach and his final word. I have to take advantge of every single game".

After the hat- trick made by Rondón during 24th day of the championship, the venezuelan has been in Zenit's last two games and, thanks to his performance, he could be at the starting lineup of the team at the final tournament against Volga and Dynamo from Moscow. Zenit will have a crucial clash next sunday (May 4)  against Lokomotiv and Kuban Krasnodar team.

Zenit is leading the russian chart with 56 points, Lokomotiv is the second one with 55 points and, with 52 point, is the defending champion CSKA: these are the three teams fighting for the big russian title.
