Posted by PanamericanWorld on February 03, 2016

Romeo Santos, who will compete in 12 categories, leads the nominations for the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards, followed by Enrique Iglesias and Nicky Jam with 11 each, the prize organization announced at a Wednesday press conference.

Next come J Balvin, with eight nominations, and Juan Gabriel, Mana and Ariel Camacho & Los Plebes del Rancho, with seven nominations each.

Those with six nominations each include Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin and the Mexican regional music groups Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga and Julion Alvarez & Su Norteño Banda.

The number "El perdon," which Enrique Iglesias performs with Nicky Jam, has garnered the Spanish singer six nominations for the awards, which will be held April 28 in Miami.

The duo is aspiring for song of the year in the Hot Latin Song, Digital, Airplay and Streaming categories, as well as for best vocal collaboration in the Hot Latin Song and Latin Rhythm song of the year.

Iglesias, in addition, could take home awards for artist and tour of the year, best social networks artist, male artist in the Hot Latin Song category and soloist in the Latin Pop Songs category.

Like Iglesias, Romeo Santos is a finalist in the best artist, best tour and best social networks artist categories, and his number "Propuesta indecente" could win the Hot Latin Song of the year award.

The head of the group Aventura, which this week returns to the stage with a series of concerts in New York, is also up for awards for best songwriter and best producer.
