Puerto Rican Coach: The Dominicans train more than us

Rafael Olazagasti, coach of Puerto Rico: Dominican Republic played with stability and that gave them the victory. They did what they needed and we were not able to close the sets the way we wanted. I also made some mistakes. The Dominicans train more than us. They do it six of seven days and in Puerto Rico that’s not the case. The financial need of the Dominicans make them more dedicated and always available. Over there (Puerto Rico), you call the players for training camps but they decline because of professional commitments like the case of our best libero.

Marcos Kwiek, coach of Dominican Republic: I am happy because we recovered from a 0-3 loss and won three important points. Now I only have a few hours to study Czech Republic and get the points to be among the best by finishing second here. We focused on the correct strategy and while we didn’t play well at times, the girls were able to recover.
