Neymar unaffected by World Cup pressure

Neymar unaffected by World Cup pressure

The Barcelona forward is his country’s talisman and main hope for Brazil to win the tournament on home soil.

However, despite the overwhelming hopes of the Brazilain public, Neymar maintains he just wants to enjoy the occasion.

“I am calm: the pressure is there. I am realising my dream to play in a World Cup with the Selecao, I want to enjoy myself and copy my heroes Ronaldo and Romario and win the Cup like them,” tuttomercatoweb reports.

Neymar hasn’t had the most productive debut season with Barcelona but has always saved his best form for the international stage.

He won the Golden Ball at last summer’s Confederations Cup and has a superb international record of 30 goals in 47 games for his country.

That puts him 11th on the all-time list of top goalscorers for Brazil, and aged just 22, he will have a decent chance of challenging Pele at the top of the charts.

First of all he will need to get fully fit as he missed the end of Barca’s season with injury while he also couldn’t find his best form as the season went by.
