Neymar tells Colombia’s Juan Zúñiga to take part in ice bucket challenge

Posted by Juan Gavasa on August 19, 2014

Neymar took part in the ice bucket challenge and called on the player who fractured his back at the World Cup to keep the campaign going.

The Barcelona forward posted a video where he douses himself with iced water, then named the Colombia midfielder Juan Camilo Zúñiga, his former Brazil team-mate Robinho and the One Direction band member Niall Horan as those he wanted to participate in the campaign to fight ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Zúñiga ended Neymar’s World Cup when he kneed the Brazil forward in the back in the quarter-finals, fracturing his back.

Zúñiga didn’t take long to accept Neymar’s challenge. He posted a video of his Napoli team-mates pouring iced water on top of him on Monday before challenging his Colombia team-mates James Rodríguez, Pablo Armero and Juan Cuadrado.

The campaign was launched by the ALS Foundation to raise money and awareness for fighting the disease.
