NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers plan on keeping Steve Nash next season

Posted by Christian Miranda on May 23, 2014

The NBA offseason is in full swing for some teams and for the first time in a long time the Los Angeles Lakers have been out of action since before the playoffs began. But while they may have missed the postseason by a long shot in 2013-14, the Lakers are looking at this offseason to see if they can’t correct the problem and eradicate issues that they have on the roster.

One player that some view as an issue, at least from a financial standpoint, is Steve Nash but he’s reportedly not going to go anywhere this offseason as the Lakers are prepared to bring him back.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the Lakers plan on picking up Steve Nash’s $9.8 million salary next season rather than using a stretch provision that would see the 40-year old point guard waived.
