Muguruza is a Newcomer according to WTA

The Venezuelan-Spanish tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza ranked at the second place on the WTA Newcomer of May voting. The Canadian Eugenie Bouchard was the most voted tennis player and won the first place in this ranking.

The Newcomer of the Month is chosen by fans between three finalist nominated by WTA and all the nominated for this award have to be under 23 years old.  

Bouchard (20) became the second Canadian that wins a WTA tournament for the last 28 years and the only Canadian is two Grand Slam semifinals this year: Australian Open and Roland Garros.

Bouchard received the 55% of the votes, while Muguruza received just de 24%. The Puerto Rican Mónica Puig, winner of the Strasbourg Tournament, was at the third place with 21% of the votes.

Bouchard and Muguruza will see each other at the Topshelf Open at the Dutch Town of Hertogenbosch, which will have a 650.000 euros award.

The Venezuelan-Spanish tennis players will play against the Dutch Lesley Kerhove.
