Muguruza lost in the first round of Wimbledon

The Venezuelan-Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza, number 27 of the WTA rankings, confessed that lose in the first round of Wimbledon has been "very disappointing" because after Roland Garros "came wanting to do well."

Muguruza came to London "with confidence" after reaching the quarter finals at Roland Garros and gotten beat the world number one Serena Williams in the second round.

"It was a pity. I was leading this series and had to play against this girl" said Muguruza, 20, who played in the first round of Wimbledon against the American Coco Vandeweghe, who had already defeated her at the Hertogenbosch tournament, a prelude to Wimbledon.

"I'm a little bit frustrated right now, I thought I would give her a rematch because I came with things clearer after Hertogenbosch" lamented the Spanish-Venezuelan.

Muguruza confessed that before the tournament did not know Vandeweghe, number 69 of the WTA rankings, but there she could see that she "plays well, shows and is in a very good shape".

The Venezuelan-Spanish, lost 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 (5), in two hours, and after a long tiebreaker in the final set.
