Mitzi Carillo first medal of Mexico in Nanjing

This is the first medal obtained by the Mexican delegation at 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.

Mexico won its first medal at 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games thanks to Mitzi Carrillo, who won a bronze medal in taekwondo in the less than 49 kilos (108 pounds) round.

Carrillo lost to Huai-Hsun Huang, representative of China Taipei, 6-1.

"She was a very difficult rival, but I felt good. This experience is special, unique. It is not something you achieve every day because it was result of a very long process," the athlete from Morelos said.
