Miguel Cabrera leads American League All-Star voting

Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera and second baseman Ian Kinsler are leading American League voting for the All-Star Game at their positions. A voting update was released by MLB for the first time on Tuesday.

Cabrera has earned 440,407 votes and Kinsler 356,244. Angels outfielder Mike Trout leads all AL players with 764,007 votes and Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who is playing his final season, is third with 602,525.

The Tigers’ Victor Martinez is third among designated hitters, Nick Castellanos is fifth at third base and Torii Hunter is sixth in the outfield.

Fans can vote online or on a mobile device until Thursday, July 3, at 11:59 p.m. The game is July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
