"The longest distance" seeking nomination at the 2015 Goya Awards

The CNAC committee does not hesitate to select The Longest Distance as the film that will represent Venezuela in the 2015 Goya Awards.

The debut of Claudia Pinto seek a nomination for Best Latin American Film, that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain awards.

"We are very happy because this is a new challenge. Many people tell us that it is difficult that Venezuela wins again. But I do not want to focus on that. It's amazing that we have been chosen, "said the filmmaker yesterday, still excited by the news.

On Monday Pinto will travel back to Spain, where she lives, to make the film lobby, which includes screenings, meetings with personalities from the Academy and media promotion. Carme Elias won the Goya for Best Actress in 2008 (Camino, Javier Fesser) and also starred in The longest distance, said she will support the nomination.

"It will not be easy because we have to compete with Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. But there is much optimism. I really wanted to bring the film to Spain, making the bridge between the two countries, "said the director.

Blue and Not So Pink of Miguel Ferrari won the Goya in 2014 Best Latin American Film. In the same category, Argentina has received the award successively on several previous occasions, which opens the possibility that Venezuela can repeat in the next year's ceremony.

Filmmaker Michael Ferrari will support The longest Distance to reach the first Award, the nomination, and then make history bringing back home the second trophy.
