LeBron James accepts the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and nominates president Obama

Everybody's doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, including LeBron James.

The Cavaliers superstar took time out during his vacation in Greece to accept the challenge from Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant, movie star Kevin Hart, former high school teammate Brandon Weems and Cavaliers DJ Steph Floss to pour a bucket of ice water over himself in the name of ALS research.

James then challenged President Barack Obama as well as his two sons, Bryce Maximus and LeBron Jr., to pour a bucket of ice over themselves or donate $100 to ALS research.

Obama, however, turned down a challenge from Ethel Kennedy earlier this week. The president said he would donate instead. Undeterred, New York Knicks starCarmelo Anthony and Team USA Basketball issued subsequent challenges to Obama.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has taken over social media the past few days, with members of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes also taking part. The campaign has raised more than $10 million so far, the ALS Association says.
