Greivis Vásquez: "I want to go back to Toronto"

Posted by Dubraswka Aguilar on May 06, 2014

The venezuelan basketball player Greivis Vásquez says goodbye to this NBA season. This Toronto's Raptors player analized the close of this campaign and his future projects: "We suffered a very crushing defeat. I think I couldn't sleep. It is not easy to take that kind of loss. However, I am proud of this team".

Greivis, who proclaims himself as a free agent in july, also said his truly wish to stay in Toronto's Raptors. "I want to go back to the team, I really want to do that. I love the city and its fans. It will break my heart if I don't return to the team, because I consider myself as a very emotional guy and I really embraced the team and the franchise. However, this was a very special year to me because I had a ankle surgery and I worked a lot all the summer. Then I came right here, in december, from Sacramento, but I wasn't that healthy but I got better and I finished the season playing well. Due to all that things i've lived, I want to go back".

Vásquez, who has been in four teams in four NBA seasons (Memphis' Grizzlies, New Orleans' Hornets, Sacramento's Kings and Toronto's Raptors), aspires to continue in Toronto. The venezuelan said his truly wish to be the canadian organization's backbone, and celebrated the continuous work of coach Dwane Casey, who concludes his contract at the end of the championship. "He is a great leader, a ver humble man, very professional and I think that he have to go back to the team because he makes us to be better in our game".

Vásquez said that he doesn't want to be seen as an arrogant person, but the Toronto Raptos can be "The Oklahoma City from the east" if they keep the team together for the nexts championships. Besides that, he mentioned that one of his aims for the future is to be head of the team again.
