Ernesto "Che" García: "We have to win as a group and qualify to the next Pan American Games in Toronto"

The Venezuelan basketball team coach, Ernesto "Che Guevara" said that his players will do their best in the 2014 South American Championship in Margarita.

"I have a great team. In Barquisimeto and Puerto La Cruz I had the chance to test them and to see their conditions as a basketball players. In this previous games we had the necessary training to be preparing our next games. We have more than a year working in our performance and that has allowed us to know the team, and now we are making a few adjustments to shape things up", said García about the last games of the team. 

The Argentinian coach said that Venezuela needs to make it to the second round in the first position of the B Group.

"There are four strong teams and they are Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina y Venezuela. I do not believe in favpouritism before the games. We have to win as a group and qualify to the next Pan American Games in Toronto", said the coach.

García said that the ongoing work has been good for the team. "We have been doing a continuous work since last year. We have committed players", said García and stressed that greivis Vásquez will offer teh defense on the court for the Venezuelan team. "We have a great team. It is a very competitive team with a modern game style".

Venezuela will try to win this championship after 23 years. The last victory was in Valencia, Venezuela in 1991.
