Eduardo Molina, the only one Chilean tea sommelier

Posted by Dubraswka Aguilar on June 19, 2014

Eduardo Molina hasn’t drunk a cup of coffee for 5 years. It was when he left his career in Commercial Engineering and got a job at Tea services of the Ritz Hotel when he started to drink tea.

He loved that much the tea world that he dedicated his life to this. But his family thought that this was just a hobby, but this thing ended up to be his career and now he is a prominent tea sommelier. “I found this very curious and it was love at first sight. Now I am crazy about tea”, said to La Hora, Chile.

“What I do is very weird for many people. I went outside Chile to see some tea plantations. When I was with the international police they asked about my career, I told them that I was a Tea taster and they looked at me in a funny way. I was talking to the police men about ten minutes and one of them asked me for my email because he wanted to learn more about this”, said Molina.

Eduardo, besides to be a globetrotter (He has been in 72 countries and talks six languages), he also taught about tea and now he is about to open a specialized store.

This young man, the only one person at National Association of Chilean Tea Sommeliers, can drink 3 tea liters per day, depending on the number of meeting he has during the day.
