Dream Season for Jose Altuve

Since Alejandro "Patón" Carrasquel burst into the Major Leagues in 1939, none of the Venezuelan players had accomplished what José Altuve did last night.

 

The Houston Astros Venezuelan player lead the major with 193 hits and made 50 stolen bases becoming the first Venezuelan with these two records in a season.  

 

With his four hits for the second straight night-one of the seven homeruns of the year- in the triumph of the Astros against the Angelinos, Altuve kept his position as bat (.340) of the American League. It was the first time in his career that makes four straight hits.

 

In the middle of a fantastic performance, Altuve reaches 22 games of 3 or more hits this season, it is the second in the Astros history, joining José Cruz (1984), and one less of Craig Biggio, who owns the record in 1998.
