Dominican Republic beats Bulgaria in a Breathtaking Match

In the inaugural meeting between the two countries, the women from the Dominican Republic and Bulgaria preformed the biggest showdown for Pool G on Sunday, which ended in a 3-2 (25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 28-30 and 16-14) win for the Dominican Republic, and 2-1 Pool G record for each team.

The first half of a breath taking fourth set was dominated by Bulgaria when Dobriana Rabadshieva scored the 16-12. The Dominican Republic responded back and returned to tie at 16. The biggest rally of the game began at the latest points where both teams interchange the leading set point. Finally, a block from setter Emiliya Nikolova sealed the fourth set 30-28 to extend the game to a fifth set.

The final and decisive fifth set bring the best of both teams that fought until an impressive block from Candida Arias stopped Bulgarian Dobriana Rabadshieva to win 16-14.
