The Venezuelan athlete Dayana Chirinos won the three silver medals in the 69 kg division and obtained the Pan American sub champion weightlifting title in the event held since last Wednesday at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The 17 years old weightlifter amazed the crowd, her rivals and the trainers in this event that is taking place in Dr. José Joaquin Puello Weightlifting Pavilion, scenario built in 2003 for the Pan American Games.

Venezuela remains at the medal count with three gold medals, 4 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. The national delegation is trying to stay at the top three of masculine weightlifting and to stay at the top six of feminine weightlifting, just to have a very good number of athletes to the next Pan American Games in Canada.

“I felt my heart beating hard in my chest in every test start, I did not want to be eliminated as I was on the last Pan American Games in Margarita. I do not feel good in the 95 kg category, but the strategy of the team is to ensure a place in Toronto 2015 and gain points. That is what really matters to obtain the best number of athletes”, said the sub champion.
