Posted by Adrian Pelaez on February 17, 2014

A Colombian tech company  announced they had created an app teaching users a variety of salsa steps.

The App, linked to upcoming dance film “Ciudad Delirio” was produced by Black Velvet Laboratories in Bogota and enables users to watch videos and learn key salsa step both individually and with a partner.

Each video shows 12-time salsa festival winning duo Vivian Vargas and Danilo Melan demonstrating both the moves for the man and the woman before showing how they should dance together.

There are six different moves taught within the app ranging from Level one of the “basic step” to the somewhat terrifying Level six of the “punta de garza.”

The App is free to download and is available for both IOS and Android smartphones, enabling the user to “connect with the seductive power and emotional strength” which embodies salsa.

“Ciudad Delirio” is due to open the 54th Edition of the Cartagena Film Festival in March and will be in cinemas April 14.
