Club season comes to an end for our Heroes in Brazil

After a year of hard work, the Brazilian FIVB Heroes Sheilla Castro and Murilo Endres say goodbye to the club season to enjoy some rest and recovery time.

It was not the closer she was hoping for, but FIVB Hero Sheilla Castro has a lot of reasons to be happy after a very demanding year. On Sunday, the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, in São Paulo, played host to over 10.800 fans for the Brazilian League Gran Finale.

Used to have a leading role in big events, Sheilla set the tone at the beginning of the match, helping her team Sollys Nestlè Osasco to open up a 2-0 advantage. But not even the 17 points scored by our FIVB Hero could stop the comeback by rivals Unilever/Rio de Janeiro, who won the following three sets to take the national title for their 8th time.

“I think it is the first time I leave with the defeat and the group is still united, which is positive. Of course, no one likes to lose. Ours is a winning group, we won almost everything we played this year, but this one eluded us. But we say goodbye with our heads held high”, said Sheilla, who celebrated winning the FIVB Club World Championship and the Paulista Championship earlier in the season.

Now the Brazilian star will enjoy her time off. After so many years dedicated to the National Team, she was granted a year off to rest her body and take care of her personal life. Rumor has it she will be getting married soon.

Also taking time off from the National Team will be fellow FIVB Hero Murilo Endres. After his team SESI-SP lost the Brazilian league semifinals, Murilo decided to proceed with surgery in his right shoulder, to heal an injury that has been bothering him for a long time.
