Begin IV Indigenous Sports Games in Venezuela

It was opened the fourth edition of the Indigenous National Games in Zulia state in western Venezuela.

The competition will bring together more than 800 athletes in 15 disciplines, including ten native, it was formally inaugurated in Belisario Aponte stadium located in Zulia state.

Aloha Nuñez, Minister of Indigenous People of Venezuela in her welcoming remarks highlighted the increasing participation in these games of athletes of all ages, from children to seniors. "I ask our ancestors, caciques Guaicaipuro and Tamanaco ues to help us perform well," she said.

She also said the goal of these Indigenous Games is not getting both medals or a place, but of the living sibling of the 44 indigenous peoples who are part of the national territory.
