Rare objects and artworks, including a painting by Mexican artist Alejandro Casarin, an Austrian tea set and religious pieces, from the 19th and 20th centuries will go on the auction block this week in Mexico City, Casa Morton said.

The firm said in a statement it was handling the auction of the works, which also include marble pieces, medals and rare maps.

The auction catalog features items ranging from an 1831 Austrian tea set to a Mexican silver tea set from the early 20th century crafted by Sanborns Sterling.

A bust of Napoleon Bonaparte made in Italy; a Pietro Canonica lamp crafted from bronze; and various French pieces in bronze, marble and stone are also on the auction block.

All the pieces can be viewed at Casa Morton ahead of the auction on Thursday. EFE
