Posted by Dubraswka Aguilar on November 04, 2014

Felix Hernandez was recognized by their peers as the best young pitcher circuit to obtain the Players Choice Awards, beating Corey Kluber, of Cleveland, and left-hander Chris Sale, White Sox Chicago.

This distinction may be a deja vu of what could happen when choosing the Cy Young Award of the season, which Kluber is the hardest prime contender.

Hernandez finished the season with a 15-6 record in 32 starts. He was leading with 2.14 ERA, the lowest since 2000, when Pedro Martinez was 1.74 with the Red Sox. Moreover, it was the best whip to 0.915, average against (.200) and on-base percentage with a staggering .243.

The Venezuelan player said "it is an honor to have been selected by the players, it's an amazing feeling."

He donated the $ 20,000 prize to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Meanwhile, outfielder Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Mike Trout, was recognized as the Best Player in the American League over the native Jose Altuve (Astros) and Victor Martinez (Tigers).

The player who stood out in the evening was the lefty Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw, who took three awards: Player of the Year, Marvin Miller Awards and the Best Bowler of the old circuit after winning 21 games.
