The AL does not lose track of Santana

At least three American League teams would be in the footsteps of Johan Santana, who remains in rehabilitation, after surgery on the left shoulder for the second time in his career.

According to Jon Heyman, a reporter for CBS Sports, the new circuit is where teams pay more attention to the recovery of "El Gocho“.

One of the most interested clubs is Minnesota Twins, considering the Merida native has won two Cy Young Awards with the team, in 2004 and 2006.

However, Santana himself has commented that he is unlikely to be ready for the opening day. The projections he and his agents have are that the pitcher will be in action from June.

Less than 20 days ago the left-handed said over his Twitter account (@johansantana): "I just want you to know that I started throwing this week and I feel great. I’m much closer to return."

Little is known about the other two clubs that would be interested on the Venezuelan. Some U.S. media have reported that the Kansas City Royals and even the New York Yankees have put an eye on the 34-year-old pitcher.
