Acer expands smartphone sales network to Caribbean

Posted by Shanelle Weir on December 05, 2014

Taiwanese computer maker Acer said Wednesday that its Android-powered Liquid E700 smartphones are now available in Bermuda, Jamaica and the Turks and Caicos Islands, extending the reach of its global smartphone sales network.

The expansion to the Caribbean follows the launches of Acer smartphones across Pan-America earlier this year, including Canada, Chile and Mexico, bringing Acer's smartphone brand to 35 markets around the world, far exceeding its original target of 25 markets set for this year.

"We're thrilled to be working with Digicel Group, which has enabled us to expand our smartphone presence to the Caribbean," said Hugo Hernandez, vice president of Acer America Smartphone Business Group.

"We believe that professionals, consumers and frequent travelers in this region will appreciate Acer's Liquid E700's ergonomic design, premium sound quality and extremely long battery life," Hernandez said in a news release.

The phone comes with a 5-inch HD display, the Android 4.4.2 operating system, a quad-core processor, 4GB of internal storage and a micro-SD card slot for expandable storage.

The Liquid E700 is available in the Caribbean at Digicel Group stores, a leading global communications provider with operations in 33 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the Asia-Pacific.
