78% of Peruvians have more than one job in order to support family

The Peruvian economy might be booming, but that doesn’t mean everyone in the Andean country is flush with cash. In fact, a large majority say they’re working multiple jobs just to make ends meet. According to results from the latest Pulso Peru poll by Datum, 78% of Peruvians say they more than one job in order to earn enough money to take care of their families. Only 17% of poll respondents said that a single job is sufficient to meet their monetary needs.

When asked about their financial prospects over the course of the next year, 55% of Peruvian said that they think they will earn about the same amount as they did in the previous year. 27% predicted that they would earn more, and 12% said that they expect to earn less.

With respect to continued economic growth in Perú, 56% of respondents said that they expect to see about the same level of growth as the year before. 22% said that they believe that the growth rate will increase, whereas 15% predicted a decrease in economic growth.
