TheVenezuelans Gabriela García and Deyna Castellanos shared the first place as the players who scored more goals in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Both girls earned the Golden Boot by scoring 6 goals and 3 assistances each thoughout the competition.

García and Castellanos received the award in the final date of the soccer tournament, after the Venezuelan team lost the third place to Italy, in a very difficult match that ended 4-4 and was decided with penalties.

García scored a ‘hat trick’ in a match against Zambia, one goal against Canada in the final quarters and made 2 of the 4 goals that Italy received in the game for the third place.

Castellanos scored in 5 matches and tied a worldwide record. She scored goals against Costa Rica, 1 against Zambia, another one to Italy (in the group phase), 1 to Canada and, also, scored the only goal that Japan received in the entire tournament, in the semifinals.

Both talented players are new stars of the female soccer, several recruiters from Europe and Central America have their eyes on both of them. The sky is the limit.
