117 medals will be awarded at the South American Beach Games

Delegations from 14 countries will be participang for 117 medals at the 3rd edition of the South American Beach Games to be held from 14 to 24 May in Vargas, Venezuela, reported today the Organizing Committee. As part of the preparations, the assistance of Guyana, Uruguay, Panama and Ecuador, Aruba, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia , Paraguay, Peru, Suriname are confirmed and, of course, Venezuela as host of the games.

300 thousand athletes will participate in 10 disciplines, of which the saling discipline will deliver the most quantity of medals with 24 in total. In other disciplines will be 18 medals like in waterskiing, 15 medals will be awarded in sports like surf and beach tennis (15 in each discipline). In displines like volleyball, rugby and handball, 6 medals will be given in every sport activity. Beach soccer will be present with a big total of 3 medals. The Brazilians will be the most important to beat rivals for venezuelan delegation.

In the last edition of South American Beach Games celebrated in Manta, Ecuador, the brazilians won 20 medals, 12 of gold, 3 of silver and 5 of bronze, while the Venezuelans were fifth with six second places and 3 bronze medals.
